Baptism is a special event, symbolizing both the grace of God and our individual decision to commit our lives to Jesus Christ and live in a right relationship with Him.  Baptism is an outward and tangible expression of a decision you have already made by inviting Jesus Christ into your life to live a life that is pleasing to Him.  The symbolism of forgiveness, cleansing and becoming a “new creation” in Christ are all part of the act of baptism.  God is changing lives, and this is a great event to express symbolically that decision in your life!

The requirements for baptism are simple:

• You have received Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, asking Him to forgive you of your sin, come into your life and make you into the person He wants you to be.  God is now leading your life.

• You currently are living in a right relationship with God and with others.

Baptism was so important to Jesus that he came to John and received baptism before he began his public ministry.  It was also important enough to be mentioned in some of his last words to His disciples before He ascended back to Heaven (in the Great Commission in Matthew 28:19-20)

1.     We invite each participant of the baptism service to share their story, or testimony.  It is not about saying the right words, or being a great public speaker, but rather, to share the miracle of God’s transforming power and grace that has become real to YOU!  It is a testimony about GOD and what He has done, and it is an awesome time to hear how God is working in each life!  You can write this out if you like. This is a powerful public statement of your desire to live your life for Christ and it gives the rest of the church family a chance to share in this joyous occasion together.

You will be among many friends who will be “cheering” you on.  We encourage each participant to invite family and friends so that you can share with them your story of God’s love!
