Just Older Youth
The Venice Church of the Nazarene "JOY (Just Older Youth) Fellowship" exists to help bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ to others and to minister to the Seniors of this local congregation. The "JOY Fellowship" meets regualarly on the second Monday of the month at 10 AM - 12 PM, October through May each year. We endeavor to reach out to our church family and our community with the love of Jesus Christ our Lord. Please invite your friends, relatives and neighbors to all of the activities of the Joy Fellowship. Our monthly meetings are informal and we have a continental breakfast. We also have drawings for free meals at area restaurants. At these meetings we have special speakers, informational, educational, and inspirational events with various types of entertainment. Inspiration, fun, food, and fellowship are a hallmark of this group. We also help to support the Good Samaritan Mission in Ruskin, Florida with gifts of food, clothing, and household items.
JOY Fellowship also sponsors day trips and extended over night trips of interest throughout the state of Florida. We have many places of interest in mind for day trips. The details of the day trips and the monthly meetings are given in the church worship folders, on the video screen at each Sunday morning service and on this web site, under the news and calendar sections. We invite your input as to trips and events you would like for us to have at our monthly meetings.
The J.O.Y. meetings are conducted the second Monday of each month October through May of each church year. We meet at 10 AM in the church fellowship hall and have a continental breadfast and give away gift certificates to area businesses. Our day trips are usually on Friday of each month and we visit area places of interest. Anyone 50 years of age are welcome.
